Class Guidelines

🙏🏼 Welcome to the wonderful journey of YOGAsanaa 🙏🏼

Guidelines:

  1. Wear loose and comfortable clothes. Try not to have tight clothing around the waist and chest region.

  2. Try to be on an empty/light stomach.

  3. Bring your mind, heart and smile 😊 along with your body to the practice.

  4. Space with fresh or well-ventilated air is ideal.

  5. During Meditation - Please No Smartwatches and Phone on Silent.

  6. During Eye exercises - no glasses or contact lenses

  7. If you experience any pain or discomfort, listen to your body and adjust the posture or stop all together.

  8. All the class updates and communications will happen on WhatsApp group. So please try to join (link will be sent to your email after you register for a class)
     

  9. Please Login 5 minutes before the class. We will start our class right on time.

  10. Please mute yourself in the meeting unless you are talking to the instructor or other student.

  11. These classes will be Live on Zoom. So try to place the laptop/phone in a way so that the instructor can see your postures and guide you if any corrections are needed.

  12. If you are not comfortable, you can keep your camera off once in a while. 
    However, keeping your camera off everyday is not allowed.
    Also, it will help the instructor to correct for any wrong postures if your camera is on.

  13. Kindly try to join Zoom meeting with your full registered first name and last name Initials as it helps us identify your presence.

  14. Only Registered student are allowed to attend the class.

  15. Unregistered students or students who keep their camera off every day will be sent to waiting room.
     

Things that you will need:

  1. Yoga Mat (Recommendation click here)

  2. Facial Tissues box/Napkin

  3. Yoga Blocks (optional) (Recommendation click here)

  4. A strap/belt/scarf (Recommendation click here)

  5. Wall/chair near your mat for balancing

  6. Soft pillow/blanket/towel

  7. Mirror in front of you (Good idea)
     

Rules for Monthly cycles:

  • It depends on every individual.

  • You can avoid for first 2 days of your monthly cycle or at least until your flow is reduced,

  • No Aasanas, Pranayamas or breathing techniques like Kapalbhati which involves abdominal movements.

  • Try not to do full abdominal bends.

  • No inversion like Shirshasana (like heads down & leg up) or Viparit karani like raising your legs up to 90 degrees.

  • Just do simple joints and body movements. You can do Full yogic breathing and observe your breath.

  • Why we should not do any form of physical activity? because during periods your energy is going downwards and when you do movements, your energy flows upward. When you have periods, you might notice that you have a better bowl movement during that time. The reason is our Apan vayu gets activated and it’s the same vayu gets activated when a mother is delivering a baby.
